A Colorado based artist that makes use of egg tempera method in paintings consisting of natural crushed stone and earth mixed with a bit of water and egg yolk to make paint. Blues originate from crushed lapis lazuli, greens from malachite and natural green earth discovered around Verona Italy. She makes use of interesting colors which have been lost for centuries and brand-new colors which she has found in the Rocky Mountains. From artist's site (/index.htm) on this particular painting: "My painting, "Everything Tuscany is a collection of all my favorite Italian things: The little fat Italian chef statue I saw in Cortona, Italy, The basket of Chianti bottle is from San Gimignano, the ceramic vases I in fact acquired in Montepulciano and had shipped house to America. The Tuscan landscape is from a drive to Monteciano, and of course the cheese and sausages are all over Montepulciano where we remained for a week in a tenth century seminary. The curved tunnels are normal of Tuscan villages and make incredible sheltered dining establishments and shopping areas for Italian goodies! And afterwards I will certainly simply include other things for balance and interest, like the wine barrels and the rooster.".
